国内企業では、インターネットサービス大手の楽天が先月、2012年中に社内で英語を公用語とする方針を打ち出した。 ユニクロを展開するファーストリテイリングも、外国人社員を交えた会議や海外店への文書を原則、2012年3月から英語に統一する予定だ。自動車業界では、仏ルノーと資本・業務提携している日産自動車が役員会などで英語を使用し、書類の日英併記などを進めている。

In the car industry, Nissan Motor Co. that had formed a tie-up with French Renault in capital and in business, had used English in board of directors meetings, and parallel writing in Japanese-English in documents was in progress.
Japanese company employees would be more busy in learning English to help them doing business. This arrangement would help connect Japan with the English speaking business world.
