Translation

Regarding the matter that the treated water accumulated at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant was discharged into the sea, comments posted on Chinese social media saying that the discharge had ``no scientific problems'' etc. were deleted, and the Chinese government seems to be getting nervous.

The deleted comment was posted on the 24th from an account claiming to be a Chinese nuclear expert.

The comment explained that "The upper limit of tritium released by Chinese authorities is eight times that of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, so there is no need to worry about it" and so on, and concluded that there was no problem in releasing treated water into the ocean.

However, this comment had already been deleted, and the account that posted it seemed to have been closed, so it could not be found even if you do a searching.

However, on SNS, photos that had saved the content of the posts were spreading, saying, "If the content is wrong, you can refute it, so why are you closing the account?" There were comments such as that “there is no choice but to wait for the quality of the people to improve,” and had comments that questioned about the act of deletion.

Regarding the reason why the account was closed, the operating company said that “it violated the rules on SNS,” but it seemed that the Chinese government was nervous about domestic public opinion.

So, in Chine comments posted on SNS saying that the discharge had ``no scientific problems'' etc. were deleted, and the Chinese government seemed to be getting nervous. Such action is not surprising as there is not much freedom of speech in the country. It seems that China is politicalizing the matter to put pressure on Japan.
