(CNN Business) 日産自動車は15日のオンライン・イベントで、新型電気自動車(EV)の多目的スポーツ車(SUV)「アリア」を発表した。
日産は2010年に初のEV「リーフ」を発表。当時のゴーン最高経営責任者(CEO)はEVシリーズの開発計画を打ち出し、2020年までに世界の自動車市場でEVのシェアが10%に達すると予想していた。
アリアは日産が米国市場に投入するEVの第2弾となる。リーフより大きく、車内も広い。フロント部分にはエンジン冷却用の「グリル」に代わって、日本の伝統的な「組子」模様を取り入れたパネルが採用されている。
エンジンルームに相当するスペースには空調ユニットなどを収め、室温やオーディオの調整はボタンやスイッチでなくアイコンをタッチして操作する。
さらに、高速道路での手放し走行を可能にする運転支援技術「プロパイロット」を搭載。床下に内蔵したバッテリーの容量は63kwhと87kwhの2種類があり 87kwhタイプは1回の充電による航続距離が米環境保護局(EPA)換算で約480キロとされる。加速は時速100キロまで約5秒と、スポーツカー並みだ。
