気象庁が公開している黄砂の予測精度が向上し、今月末からは地図で表示される範囲が発生源のタクラマカン砂漠まで広がることになりました。「早めの警戒に役立ててほしい」としています。

黄砂は大陸の砂漠地帯で巻き上げられた砂が偏西風にのって広がる現象で、日本でも視界が悪くなったり、洗濯物が汚れたりするなどの影響が出ます。

気象庁は黄砂の予測をホームページで公表していますが、ＪＡＸＡ＝宇宙航空研究開発機構などの協力を受けて、気象衛星「ひまわり８号」の画像データを取り入れた結果、２日先までの予測精度が10％向上したということです。

地図で表示される範囲も、これまでの日本周辺だけから黄砂の発生源である大陸の西側のゴビ砂漠やタクラマカン砂漠まで広がりました。

新たな黄砂の予測図は今月29日から公開される予定で、気象庁は「より詳しい状況が分かるので、早めの警戒に役立ててほしい」としています。
