The free communication application
"LINE (Chinese name – Lian
Wo)" had stopped connection in China . Although the cause was not known,
it might have been intercepted, like the Twitter, Facebook etc. which were regulated
by the China
authorities.
According to LINE etc., dispatch and
reception messages etc. from China
became impossible starting from the night on the 1st. It was said that no problem was
found in the system managed by the companies, such as the server. In response to
press coverage it supposed that "we are going to solve the connection
problem in China
now".
In the morning of the 2nd a statement
was issued by the Chinese version of Twitter - Weibo, saying that "now a
connection obstacle to the Chinese users has come out of the LINE, and the
utmost effort for its restoration is being made", and that users’
understanding would be appreciated.
LINE started service in 2012 and the
users in China
were increasing. In China ,
a situation where the connection service of the U.S. Google continued to fail
had happened around June 4th when it was near the 25th anniversary of Tiananmen
Square Incident.
Anything
can happen under a totalitarian government.
