2016年東京、大阪、名古屋大都市之間會有即日傳送服務

Recently the Mainichi News on-line reported the following:

ヤマトホールディングスは５日、２０１６年までに東京、大阪、名古屋の３大都市間で宅配サービス「宅急便」の当日配達に乗り出すことを明らかにした。各都市の近郊に大型物流施設を新設し、現在の基本的な料金体系を維持したままで顧客サービス向上を図る。

　同社によると、３大都市間の当日配達は一部の物流会社が手掛けているものの、運賃がきわめて高額だった。物流大手は限られた地域内で当日配達しているが、長距離輸送を伴う３大都市間では初めてという。

　ヤマトは新たな大型物流施設で、最新の自動仕分け装置を利用して効率化を進める。

On the 5th Yamato Holdings made known that by 2016 their home delivery service "Takkyubin" would be ready to provide same day delivery service within the three big cities of Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. New large-sized physical distribution institutions would be established in the suburbs of each city, aiming at improving the customer service while maintaining the present basic fee structure.

According to the company, although some delivery companies were handling  the same day delivery service between these three big cities, the fare was very high. It was also said that although within these three big cities some big delivery accompanies were providing same day service, it was for limited regions only;and  it was the first time to have long distance delivery within these three cities.

Yamato would be using new large-sized physical distribution installation, and pushing ahead the use of the latest automatic assortment equipment to increase its efficiency.

Probably this new delivery service will improve the connection between these cities.
