Government to accept soldiers injured in Ukraine at SDF Central Hospital

政府はウクライナへの支援の一環として、負傷した兵士を日本の自衛隊中央病院で受け入れる方針を固めました。

政府はロシアによる侵攻を受けるウクライナへの支援として、これまで自衛隊が保有する防弾チョッキやヘルメットなどの装備品を提供してきましたが、より踏み込んだ支援を行えないか、検討を進めてきました。

こうした中、ウクライナ政府からの要請を受け、政府は来月にも負傷した兵士数人を東京 世田谷区にある自衛隊中央病院で受け入れる方針を固めました。

受け入れるのは地雷などで負傷した兵士で、治療やリハビリなどを想定していて、費用は日本側が負担する方向で調整しています。

浜田防衛大臣が18日に防衛省でウクライナのコルスンスキー駐日大使と会談し、こうした支援策を直接伝えることにしています。

As part of its aid to Ukraine, the government had decided to accept wounded soldiers at Japan's Self-Defense Forces Central Hospital.

The government had so far provided equipment such as bulletproof vests and helmets owned by the Self-Defense Forces as support for Ukraine which was being invaded by Russia, and was considering whether it could provide more in-depth support.

Under these circumstances, in response to a request from the Ukrainian government, the government decided to accept several injured soldiers at the Self-Defense Forces Central Hospital in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo next month.

The plan was to accept soldiers who were injured by landmines, etc. and to receive treatment and rehabilitation, and the coordination was in the direction that the Japanese side would bear the costs.

At the Ministry of Defense on the 18th Defense Minister Hamada would meet with Korsunsky, Ukraine's Ambassador to Japan, and directly convey these support measures.

So, Japan has decided to accept wounded Ukrainian soldiers at Japan's Self-Defense Forces Central Hospital as an effort to provide more non-military support to Ukraine.
