馬鞭草吸銫効果是向日葵30倍

 土木工事、緑化事業の「田中建設」(石川県能美市、田中均社長)が、防草緑化事業で植栽しているヒメイワダレソウの放射性セシウム吸着効果について福島県南相馬市で調べたところ、ヒマワリの約30倍の吸収効果があったことが分かった。
 ヒメイワダレソウは雑草の抑制効果があり、春から秋にかけて小さな薄紫色の花を咲かせる。同社はヒメイワダレソウを用いた緑化工法で、県建設新技術認定証を受けている。同社の工法を生かして東京電力福島第一原発事故の復興支援ができないか探るために昨年8月~11月、南相馬市の5か所にヒメイワダレソウを植え、土壌中の放射性セシウムを吸収するか調べた。
 その結果、土中の放射性セシウムの64分の1を吸着したことが判明。2000分の1を吸着するとされるヒマワリの約30倍の吸収率で、繁殖力の強さを生かせば、表土を削るなどするより低コストで放射性セシウムを除去できる可能性があるという。
 研究では、アンモニウム肥料を用いれば吸着率が高まるとの結果も出たという。田中社長は「今年は生育の良い春から調べたい」と実用化につなげたい考えだ。

   The "Tanaka Construction" (Ishikawa Nomi, President Hitoshi Tanaka), an enterprise doing public works and tree planting, was currently doing an anti-grass cum tree planting project in Fukushima Minamisoma to conduct an investigation on the absorption of radioactive cesium. It was found out that Lippia canescens had about 30 times more absorption effect than the sunflower.

   Lippia canescens had an inhibiting effect on weeds and making light purple flowers to bloom from spring to autumn. The company used Lippia canescens as a way to plant and had received a new technology certificate on prefecture’s constructions. Taking advantage of the construction method of the company, and in order to know whether it could make use the company’s method to assist in the reconstruction works generated by the Tokyo Electric Power Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident, they did an investigation to explore the radioactive cesium absorption in soil by planting Lippia canescens in five places in Minamisoma from August to November last year.

   In the result, it became clear that 1/64 of the radioactive cesium in the ground was absorbed. Compared with the supposed sunflower’s absorption ability of 1/2000, it was about 30 times more. If the strength in growing were employed efficiently, it might be said that the radioactive cesium could be removable at lower cost rather than removing the topsoil.

   In the research, it was said that if ammonium manure was used, it could lead to an increase in absorption rate. President Tanaka intended to tie it to practice and said that “this year I would like to do the investigation from spring when it is good for growth".


It is good news that Lippia canescens is more effective than sun flower.
