ソニー、「VAIO」パソコン事業を譲渡へ

ソニーは2日、「VAIO(バイオ)」ブランドで展開してきたパソコン事業を、投資ファンド「日本産業パートナーズ」が設立する新会社に譲渡する契約を正式に結んだと発表した。
新会社名は「VAIO」で、製造拠点があった長野県安曇野市に本社を置く。7月1日の事業開始を目指す。資本金は10億円で、出資比率は日本産業パートナーズが95%、ソニーが5%。従業員は約240人。
ソニーが手がけるバイオは、現在販売中の2014年春モデルが最後となるが、販売済み商品のアフターサービスは継続する。

On the 2nd (May) Sony announced
that it had formally made a contract which would transfer the personal computer enterprise
developed by the "VAIO" brand to a new company established by an
investment fund the "Japanese industrial partners".
The new company name was "VAIO", with
the production base assigned to the head office in Azumino, Nagano . Aiming at starting the business on
July 1, the capital was one billion yen, with the ratio of 95% Japanese industrial
partners and 5% Sony. There were about 240 employees.
As for VAIO which Sony was dealing with, although
the model for the spring of 2014 now on sale would be the last, the after-sale
service for the sold goods would be continued.
It seems that Sony is moving out from the production of personal
computers, on top of the TVs.
