Recently the NHK News on-line reported the following:

On the 19th, the American automaker the GM: General Motors announced that their sales in the entire world last year was 9,025,900, an increase of 7.6% compared with last year; and it became certain that the volume of sales was the world's No. one, for GM for the first time in four years.
Toyota Motor, which was at the top up to now had indicated that it would have a sales volume of 7,900,000 cars last year, it would be displaced by Volkswagen of Germany that had 8,160,000 cars and was expected to fall below the 3rd place.

This outcome is not surprising to the Japanese. A few months ago Toyota already expected that GM would be the world leader in the car production industry again. Would this also prove that the US economy is gradually recovering?
