On 28.3.2012 the NHK News on-line reported the following:

Before the standard on the radioactive material contained in food became more severe starting next month [April], the liaison committee for the Miyagi Prefecture and the fisherman's cooperative associations etc. decided to request fishery operators to exercise self-control on their landing starting from 30th, having regard to the comparatively high dosage of radioactive cesium being detected in the sea bass caught at Miyagiken-oki.
From the sea bass caught at the offing at the Shichigahama Town and Watari-cho in Miyagi Prefecture, starting from last month up to the end of this month [March], radioactive cesium of the comparatively high dosage was detected continuously; per kg went up to a height of 360 Bq, and the latest inspection also exceeded 100 Bq.
Centering around radioactive cesium contained in food such as a fish, the standard value of the country would become more severe starting from next month: to be set at 100 Bq from 500 Bq per kg; in response to that the liaison committee between the Miyagi Prefecture, the fisherman's cooperative associations, and the people involved in the market held a meeting on the 28th in Shiogama to discuss future action.
As a result, it was decided to request fishery operators to exercising self-control on landing of sea bass starting from the 30th.
The targets required to exercise self-restriction was the ocean space at the coast of Ishinomaki from south Golden Hua Shan up to Yamamoto-cho, and this was the first time that self-control was exercised over the landing of marine products in Miyagi due to the influence of the nuclear power plant disaster.
The safety standard of marine products is a big concern for local consumers.
