中国民意對南海主權爭議支持軍事行動

Recently the Yomiuri News reported the following:
中国の国際問題専門紙「環球時報」（英語版）は２０日、ベトナムなどとの対立が激化する南シナ海の領有権問題について同紙が行ったインターネット世論調査で、中国の「軍事行動」が最も妥当な紛争解決方法だとする回答が８２・９％に達したと報じた。
　「交渉による解決」を求める意見は１３・６％にとどまった。
　調査は２万３０００人以上が参加。南シナ海の紛争で「中国が自制を示すこと」を支持するとの回答が１８％だったのに対し、反対が８０％に上るなど強硬意見が目立った。

In an opinion poll done on 20th by the "Word Times" of China (English version), a journal specialized in international problems, it was reported that the answer to the poll done by this paper about the method to solve the intensified confrontation with Vietnam etc. over the sovereignty problem in the South China Sea, the reply that "Military campaign" by China was the most appropriate had reached 82.9%.
The opinion that requested "Solution through negotiations" remained in 13.6%.
23,000 people or more had participated in this survey. Comparing to the 18% that answered in support of "China to show self-control", a strong opposing opinion of up to 80% stood out.

While I have little faith in this kind of opinion poll, some how it has given hints on the thinking of some Chinese people. Nationalism is a double edged sword, it should be used with care.
