On the 2nd (March), an
international exhibition of smart phones and tablet terminals: the "Mobile
World Congress" was open in Barcelona of Spain.
In the world
market of smart phone and tablet, on top of the two big suppliers of the US
Apple and the Korean Samsung Electronics, Chinese manufacturers and others
which sold at a low price were rising up and causing a hard time to the Japanese
manufacturers. The Japanese groups were developing models with new features and
were eager to win customers.
The
Japanese groups were in an unfavorable position: up to now smart phones were with
functions of high waterproofing and dust protection, and focusing on the
middle-aged and elderly group; models loaded with high technology and ideas
were also popular in foreign countries. Based on these experience, they would consider
developing smart phones and tablet terminals with special features, and to attract
certain specific fan group.
Fujitsu
released a pilot model of smart phone: its terminal just judged from one’s eye could
confirm whether the user was the owner himself. After the terminal applied an infrared
ray to a user's eye, a camera would read the iris that was registered
previously. Even if one did not touch a screen, the lock could be released. It
was said that safety was high because an individual’s iris was different, just
like a fingerprint.
From a
user’s point of view, keen competition in the market will encourage the
production of better and cheaper mobile phones etc.
