川崎市有浮世絵展覽

Recently Yomiuri News reported the following:

江戸時代の徳川家の将軍の生活や、江戸城の年中行事を描いた浮世絵を紹介する「千代田之御表」展が７日から、川崎市川崎区の川崎・砂子の里資料館で開かれる。

　浮世絵は幕末の武士で、戊辰戦争に参戦した後に絵師になった楊洲(ようしゅう)周延(ちかのぶ)が１８９７年に描いたもので、将軍が剣術試合を観覧する「武術上覧」など３３点を展示する。 奉行が事件を選んで将軍の前で裁いて見せた「公事上聴」を描いた浮世絵では、罪人として町奉行の前に引き出された遊女が華やかに着飾っており、将軍に見せる特別な裁判だったことがうかがえる。
斎藤文夫館長（８１）は、「当時は江戸時代を覚えている人もたくさんいた。人々のノスタルジーをかき立てた徳川三百年の伝統をぜひ見に来てほしい」と話している。２６日まで。日曜休館。入館無料。
　
An exhibition that introduced Japanese drawings (ukiyoe) that depicted the life of the military general of the Tokugawa family in Edo period and also the annual event of the Edo castle was open on the 7th at the exhibition center at the Kawasaki Ichikawa cap district of Kawasaki city.

Drawings were done by an end-of-shogunate-period samurai Youshuu Chikanobu who had participated in the Boshin War and later became a painter by drawing about the war in 1897, 33 items including the "Military Arts Appreciation" which depicted the general watching a fencing game was also exhibited. In a ukiyoe that depicted "Lord's Public Hearing" in which the magistrate chose an event and judged it in front of the general, the prostitute drawn out as a criminal in front of the town's magistrate was dressed up colorfully, and it was possible that it was a special trial because it was shown to the general. Superintendent Fumio Saito (81) said ｢At that time, there were still a lot of people who remembered Edo period. I want you by all means come to see the the much written people's nostalgia of the tradition of the 300 years in Tokugawa｣. It would be opened until the 26th. Closed on Sunday. The entrance is free.
