「チンする」浸透９割、「ディスる」は？　国語世論調査

　「チンする」という言葉はよく使うけど、「タクる」「ディスる」は聞いたことがない――。名詞や外来語などに「る」や「する」を付けて動詞にする言い方について、文化庁が初めて調べたところ、そんな実態が明らかになった。

　調査は今年３月、２０１３年度の国語世論調査として、全国の１６歳以上の男女３４７３人を対象に行い、２０２８人が答えた。

　同庁によると、名詞などに「る」「する」を付ける言い方は古くからあり、江戸時代の文献には、男女がいちゃつく「痴話（ちわ）る」という表現があるという。

　このような表現については、１９９５年に国語審議会（当時）が「どの程度認めていくかの判断が難しい」と指摘していた。今回は「チンする」（レンジで加熱する）など、国語辞典に載っていたり、最近使われる例が目立ったりする１０例について尋ねた。

　「チンする」は、使う人が９０・４％いて、聞いたことはあるという人を合わせると９８％を超えた。

　英語で「尊敬しない」などの意味のｄｉｓｒｅｓｐｅｃｔから生まれた表現で、相手をけなしたり、否定したりする意味の「ディスる」を使う人は５・５％。若い世代に偏っている。

　同庁は「こうした表現について、良い悪いは言えないが、分からない人もいるということを踏まえて使ってほしい」と話している。（藤井裕介）

Although the word "chin-suru" was often used, one might not have heard of "Taku-ru" and "dis-ru". The Agency for Cultural Affairs investigated for the first time on how as a way of speaking, to attach "ru" or "suru" to a noun or a foreign word etc. to make it into a verb; the actual situation became clear.

The investigation was conducted in March this year on 3,473 men and women aged 16 and over all over the country in a language opinion poll for the 2013 fiscal year. 2,028 people had answered.

According to the Agency, for many years it was a way of speaking by attaching "ru" or "suru" to a noun etc., and in the literature of the Edo period there was a phrase "Chiwa-ru" for men and women in flirting.

About such an expression, the Council on National Language (at that time) had indicated in 1995 that "the judgment on how much it was accepted is difficult". This time it asked about "chin-suru" (to heat it in a range) etc. which appeared in the Japanese dictionary and about ten conspicuous examples of its usage in these day were found.

The people that used "chin-suru" were 90.4%, and those who had heard about it exceeded 98% in total.

“Dis-ru”, which was born from an English expression to mean disrespect, had a "not respected" meaning and was meant to belittle or deny one’s partner. It was used by 5.5% of the people and had an inclination among the younger generation.

The agency said "whether it is good or bad about such an expression cannot be said; when using it try to give due regard to the fact that some people may not understand it".

It is an interesting survey on language. I always believe that language has a life of its own.
