The Justice Minister to strengthen counter-measures - "Residence card" counterfeiting was at the highest pace

在留資格をもつ外国人に発行される「在留カード」の偽造による検挙件数が増えていることから、山下法務大臣は、偽造を防ぐための対策の強化に取り組む考えを示しました。

偽造された「在留カード」の所持や提供で、去年の上半期に警察が検挙した件数は291件で、過去最高だったおととしを超えるペースになっています。

山下法務大臣は記者会見で「一見して、偽造かどうか分からないカードが出回っていることは事実で、偽造かどうかを見分けるホログラムを加工しているので、周知していきたい」と述べました。

そのうえで「外国人材の受入れ拡大もあるので、関係機関と連携して偽造カード対策をやっていきたい」と述べ、偽造を防ぐための対策の強化に取り組む考えを示しました。

Translation

 Because there was an increasing number of arrested cases on counterfeiting "resident cards" which were issued to foreigners who had residence status, Yamashita the Minister of Justice showed the idea of taking up countermeasures to prevent counterfeiting.

The number of cases of police arrested in the first half of last year on the possession and giving out of counterfeited "residence card" was 291, at a pace that exceeded the highest past record.

At a press conference Yamashita said, " it is true that cards that could not be confirmed to be a counterfeit at a glance are circulating, so I am adding holograms that could distinguish whether it is a counterfeit or not; I would like to make known this".

Besides, he stated that "Because there is also an expansion in accepting foreign talented people, I would like to take counter-measures against counterfeit cards in cooperation with related organizations” and was showing his thought to take up countermeasures to prevent counterfeiting.

     I hope that the counter-measures could stamp out the counterfeit cards.
