日本中小学校加強英語授課

中学校の英語の授業を全て英語で行うなどの改革案　文科省

文部科学省は、中学校の英語の授業を全て英語で行うことなどを盛り込んだ、英語教育の改革案を発表した。
下村文科相は「日常コミュニケーションが外国人ととれる、当然の時代の要請だと思います」と述べた。
改革案では、現在、小学校5年生から行っている英語の授業を、小学校3年生から始めて、初歩的な英語能力を養い、中学校からは、英語による授業を行うとしている。
さらに高校では、英語を使った発表や討論など、より高度な授業を行うという。
文部科学省では、2018年度から段階的に実施する予定で、2020年度から、本格的な実施を目指すことにしている。

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology announced a reform bill on English education which would incorporate using English exclusively when teaching English lessons in the junior high schools etc.

The Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Minister Shimomura said "I think that to be able to do every day communication with a foreigner is a need of the time".

In the reform bill, the English lessons currently conducted starting from the fifth grader in the elementary school would begin at the third grader so that their basic English capability could be developed. It was supposed that lessons would be conduct solely in English in the junior high school.

Furthermore, at the high school, it was suggested  that more advanced lessons on English in make speeches and discussion etc. would be conducted.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology planned on carrying this out gradually from the 2018 fiscal year, and aimed at a full-scale implementation from the fiscal year 2020.

The determination of Japan to go international is obvious.
