On the 17th the "Zhongyuan Network" news web site in China’s Henan Province said that an extensive death of pigs due to unknown reason had occurred in the villages at the suburb of the Luoyang city on the 15th.

Although there were voices among the village people suspecting the influence of the bird flu (H7N9 type), the result of investigation by the local government said that it was unrelated.

There were 410 pigs died in the pig farms in the villages. Moreover, it was also found that 122 dogs had died in different locations in the villages. According to the Luoyang government, the possibility of having an epidemic among the animals was low.

Although in the villages there were also indications that the drainage and the exhaust gas from the local chemical factory could be a cause, it was said that a major pollution to the atmosphere or to the water quality was not seen.

If it is not due to the pollution, then why the pigs and dogs died suddenly, interesting.
