零式戦機:由美國回歸、在神奈川公開…指望在日本飛行

A few weeks ago the Mainichi News on-line reported the following:

ゼロ戦:米から里帰り、神奈川で公開…日本で飛行目指す

　旧日本軍の零式艦上戦闘機（ゼロ戦）の復元機１機が米国から移送され、５日に神奈川県綾瀬市内で報道陣に公開された。企画したゼロエンタープライズ・ジャパン（東京）によると、現存する飛行可能なゼロ戦は米国に５機あるとされており、そのうちの１機。

　現在は輸送のため解体された状態で、来年の戦後７０年に合わせ、日本で飛行させることを目指すとしている。

　１９７０年代にパプアニューギニアで見つかり、米国などで修理された。「里帰りプロジェクト」を進める同社が、所有する米企業から委託された。

　２１〜２４日、さいたまスーパーアリーナで、解体された機体を有料で一般公開する。（共同）

One restored Mitsubishi A6M Zero (Zero fighter) of the former Japanese military was transferred from the USA and exhibited to the press in Ayase-city, Kanagawa on the 5^th (November). According to the Zero Enterprises Japan (Tokyo) that did the planning, it was assumed that there were 5 zero planes existed in the USA that could fly, this was one of these planes.

   At present it was in a dismantled state for transportation. It was assumed that the present aim was to make them fly in Japan next year which was the 70th postwar year.

   This plane was found in the Papua New Guinea in 1970s and repaired in the USA. The said company, which advanced the “Homeland visiting project", was entrusted by an American corporation that possessed it.

   The dismantled aircraft would be opened to the public at Saitama Super Arena on 21^st to 24^th (November) at a fee.

I always regard the Zero as an icon of the military might of the Imperial Japan during WWII. I imagine that it would be quite an experience to feel the noise of a Zero when it flies pass you.
